Tips to Pursue a Life-Long Education in Entrepreneurship

The last of the nine stages to build your business that I teach in Entrepreneurial Leap is continuing to capitalize on coaching, training, and mentoring. The value of a trusted advisor cannot be underestimated. The highest performers in the world have a coach or mentor.

Continued Coaching

First, the day you start earning the qualifying annual $200,000 personal income, join the Strategic Coach® Program. Dan Sullivan created this program, which has helped thousands of entrepreneurs become incredibly successful. I’ve been in the program for over twenty years. It has changed my life, and I’m confident it will have the same huge impact on yours. You can learn more about it at

Continued Training

Once you have employees, I urge you to read my first book, Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business, which will teach you how to implement the “operating system” I created—EOS, the Entrepreneurial Operating System—into your business. Over a hundred thousand companies all over the world use the EOS tools. EOS will help you run a better business; it will show you how to structure your organization, prioritize and manage data and people better, and solve issues and execute your vision faster. You can learn more about EOS at Most of my clients say, “I wish I had EOS when I started my business.”

Continued Mentoring

Once you reach a million dollars in revenue, I urge you to look into peer-group organizations, where you can meet with five to fifteen other like-minded entrepreneurs monthly to share with, learn from, and help one another. These organizations have also had a huge impact on tens of thousands of entrepreneurs’ lives, as well as mine.

Some examples of peer-group organizations are Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Women Presidents’ Organization (WPO), Vistage, The Alternative Board (TAB), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC).

Next Steps

Take a moment right now to identify where you are in your entrepreneurial journey, and what type of coaching, training, and mentoring you will most benefit from.

I would also suggest you set a goal for yourself as to which organizations you want to join once you reach the appropriate milestone to qualify.
