Sadly, most entrepreneurs don’t live their ideal lives. I intend to change that.
Imagine doing what you love to do every day—what gives you unlimited energy, so much so that you wake up before your alarm clock every morning. Picture doing it with energy and excitement, and with people you really love being around, people who are enjoyable and uplifting. Picture that the work you’re doing is making an impact: the impact you want to make, whether it’s on the world, your country, state, or community—or on your employees, clients/customers, family, friends, or yourself. Also imagine you’re being compensated well, making as much money as you want, while also having the time to pursue the other activities you’re passionate about in your personal life.
To accomplish the above, first you have to believe you’re worthy of living that life. Sadly, most entrepreneurs don’t live their ideal lives. Maybe that’s because they don’t feel they deserve it or are afraid of it, are too undisciplined, have some deep-seated, self-destructive, psychological disorder, or simply don’t know how. As spiritual teacher and author David R. Hawkins wrote, “The unconscious will allow us to have only what we think we deserve.”
I’ll do everything in my power to convince you that you deserve it and show you how to get it, but you have to believe you’re worthy in order for it to become a reality. And the beauty is, many people will benefit from you achieving this life: your co-workers, family and friends—your community.
It’s important for you to know that it’s just as hard to live your non-ideal life than your ideal one. So, what can be the only reason you’re not?
You deserve it.
Let me repeat that: You deserve it.
Living your ideal life is defined by five points:
- Doing what you love
- With people you love
- Making a huge difference
- Being compensated appropriately
- With time for other passions
We call these five points The EOS Life, a term my co-founder of EOS Worldwide, Don Tinney, coined when he observed the life I was living and then, subsequently, the lives we helped our clients live by implementing EOS in their companies.
I want you, as an entrepreneur-in-the-making, to see the future and what is possible for you.
I will start this journey by showing you what a perfect 10 looks like on each of the five points.
- Doing what you love means that you spend every working minute doing only the activities you love to do and are great at doing—the actions that give you unlimited energy and excitement.
- With people you love means that everyone in your life, your co-workers, customers, vendors, friends, and family, are all people you enjoy being around and they uplift you.
- Making an impact means that you’re having the exact impact that you want to have on the world.
- Being compensated appropriately means that you’re earning the amount of money that you want to achieve your financial goals.
- With time for other passions means that you spend the amount of time you want on your passions: the things outside of work that you enjoy and that give you energy.

One of the greatest advantages of being an entrepreneur is that you have total freedom to design and live your ideal life.
You can do exactly what you want, with who you want, make as big of an impact as you want, make as much money as you want, and take as much time off as you want.
Now, there’s always a paradox—that is the upside of being an entrepreneur.
The downside is that it’s hard to start and build a great company, the odds are against you, and the failure rate is high. But if you have what it takes, you will increase your odds of succeeding and living your ideal life.
